Dear friends: The Hive is going through some changes. We are in talks with Capital Resorts, the owners of the 84 Main Street building, on leasing out our space. CR has been interested in purchasing the space for some time, and though we are going to miss cultivating arts in the community, we are also excited about the next phase of The Hive's evolution. There are no further shows or events on our schedule.

We are grateful to all of you who contributed in our endeavor to promote local arts, whether as creators or listeners, through sharing poetry and artwork, guiding others in our workshop, or enriching your own experience through interaction with area arts. As we enter this next stage, we hope that The Hive can continue in its mission and can continue to be a part of your lives.

-- Rachel Morse, director of The Hive

Making canvas floor cloths with Christine Burgess
Paint a canvas floor cloth during this one-day workshop. You don’t have to be an artist to paint a beautiful and functional floor cloth. If you can paint a swirl, stamp, or stencil, then you're ready. Class size limited to 8.
Registration fee ($100/$170 for two) guarantees finished product and all necessary materials.

We're planning more workshops this summer, including drawing with John Andrews and encaustic with Pamala Crabb. Want to register for a workshop? Got questions? Interested in teaching? Email us or call (207) 985-0006.

The Hive is happy to offer the use of its space, whether for community gatherings, private functions, or events to support local charities. Our upstairs gallery and venue, with adjacent bar and professional stage, makes a great location for celebrations or larger events. And Studio B, downstairs, is a great spot for smaller meetings or children's birthday parties.

We are proud to support local charities and non-profits, and regularly host fundraising events. And we're pleased to cater events or work with your group to provide live music.
